Monkeybiz is excited to announce Near and Far in Cygnet, Tasmania is now stocking
their exquisite beaded artworks, adding to the brand’s presence in Paris, London, New
York and beyond.
Monkeybiz beaded artworks are unique one-off pieces, handmade by South African
women in their homes.
Each collectible Monkeybiz piece is a vibrant statement of contemporary craft art.
Monkeybiz reflects some of the qualities of Pop Art – a riot of bright colours and
playfulness – while drawing on an esteemed tradition of beading on the African
continent.
Through creating sustainable employment, Monkeybiz empowers women and supports
health development in the most economically disadvantaged areas of South Africa.
Monkeybiz South Africa began as a non-profit income-generating project in January
2000, and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
