    But as Margaret says, it is not only birds.

    From frogs to carnivores, humans are clearing the planet of other species with a thoughtlessness that is astonishing. Many people do realise that without a varied range of flora our species won’t last long – but many do not realise that the flora depends on the fauna that needs a particular ecosystem as its home. They are interdependent, cannot survive without each other.

    The one unnecessary species on this planet is humans, because we have ensured our survival is at the expense of everything else.
