Again, where is the water for David Llewellyn and David Bartlett’s proposed irrigation schemes coming from, in particular the Sassafras/Wesley Vale scheme? The Mersey River has been reduced to a trickle in recent summers by a great deal of it’s flow being already diverted to Forth. There is not enough water remaining to keep taking out for any proposed Sassafras/Wesley Vale irrigation scheme. What happened to irrigation being the last consideration in priority of the use of our water resources? And, JBS Swift is big enough and profitable enough to pay its own way on King Island without forever sticking their grubby hands into my pockets.
