Bells are ringing … On the 14th March 2007 the National Toxics Network put out a Media Release:

“Esperence residents fear high lead levels in their air and drinking water”
“Spokesperson for the National Toxics Network Lee Bell, said “Despite the proverbial” canaries in the coalmine” dropping from the Esperence (WA) sky in their thousands, the DOH has taken the extraordinary position that they “had seen no evidence to suggest the general population has been exposed to a health risk”.
