Bartlett himself, of course, has at least two members of the families of past Labor premiers working in his own office – one the brother of Michael Field and one the son of Jim Bacon. It is one thing to decry the employment by politicians of immediate family in employment at taxpayers expense, which Bartlett has done, belatedly, to minimize political damage, but it is another to do the same for political mates. That is hypocrisy, pure and simple, and Bartlett is an outrageous hypocrite on this issue. He adopts the moral high ground in relation to direct family members while employing the relatives of two former Labor premiers in his own office.
