Revised Draft State Policy on the Protection of Agricultural Land 2007

Note:
Key changes in the Policy relate to plantation forestry and ‘controlled environment agriculture’, which are now specifically addressed. Of particular import is Principle 11 and Section 5 Transitional Arrangements, which both deal with plantation forestry on agricultural land. The policy also now recognises that it is not only ‘prime’ agricultural land that is worthy of protecting for agriculture.

These documents can also be inspected at the Commission’s Hobart office.
