… you are a Liberal and wear a Hawthorn jumper: Kennett backing Lennon on cue

Hag woke to hear on Breakfast, with Fran Kelly a World Wildlife Fund expert deliver the most confronting attack on Tasmania’s (and the Feds’) neglect of the Macquarie Island World Heritage wildlife paradise. Neglect that in the estimation of the expert could take up to 100 years to remedy. The buck stops with Paul and Paula: Paul Lennon and Paula Wriedt.

At the same time as Tasmania’s World Heritage management was being lambasted, more pictures of World’s Best Practice forestry activities on the North West Coast arrived:

Pictures: Brenda Rosser: From West Takone Tuesday. “Every creek bar one was gutted. Today’s headline in The Examiner: no change for forest policy by the Howard Govt.” The image of the rainforest creek is only 20 metres from a gigantic expanse of E Nitens and Radiata pine monoculture at West Takone. The tiny dying remnants of rainforest vegetation in the damaged creeks clearly show what the original vegetation was. The trees that ate the farmhouse.

Hag wonders again … has there ever been a worse government in Tasmania’s history:
