HERE is an important petition supporting our campaign to overturn a Private Timber Reserve on high conservation forest in Reedy Marsh in northern Tasmania. Private Timber Reserves enshrine logging.

This land has more Threatened species than you can poke a sick at; 11 that we know of, without considering invertebrates or the RFA priority species. It is of the highest conservation value. The land owner wishes to log it out over 10 years with Gunns Ltd doing the woodchipping. There are very few, if any sawlogs.

We urgently need signatures on our petition from people who believe this proposal should not proceed. We are running an appeal in the Forest Practices Tribunal on 21 to 24 February and will be presenting the petition to the Tribunal at that time in The Public Interest.

Could you please devote some time to gaining signatures and passing the petition on through your networks or your organisation or neighbourhood.

We hope to show that this matter is a of concern to all Australians.

We need the signed petitions back to PO Box 261 Deloraine 7304 by mid February.

Every signature counts.

If you need more informations email: Signatories need to be 18 years or over.
