NEIL CREMASCO: Over 250 people attended the launch of the Weld Echo art exhibition last Friday at the Waterside Pavilion, Mawson’s Place, Hobart. The exhibition is over — now it’s time for the auction …
Inspired by the Weld Valley in southern Tasmania, Weld Echo is a collaborative exhibition of both emerging and well established artists.

The works are magnificent.

An art auction of ‘Weld Echo’ pieces will be held this Sunday 11th September at
Sirens Restaurant, 6 Victoria St, central Hobart: AT 4.30pm

The Auction will raise much needed funds for the campaign to protect the Weld Valley.

The beautiful Lower Weld Valley is on the Eastern Boundary of the Tasmanian Western World Heritage Area. It’s immediately under threat by woodchipping.

This area is the forgotten forest in the recent Howard-Lennon ‘Community Forest Agreement’. High conservation forests bordering the World Heritage Area are due for logging this summer

This awesome exhibition is produced by the Black Sassy Collective, a creative arm of the Huon Valley Environment Centre.
