How interesting. Perhaps FT should make a closer study of the behaviour of bats. Which of the 6 or so species in Tasmania is it and what are the behaviour patterns.
As I understand it some species have a proclivity for living in a colony when thay are with young.
The bats that inhabit the north facing wall of my vertical board house with cathedral ceiling confine themselves to the wall.
Perhaps a different cladding such as a colourbond pressed metal. The opportunity to insulate arises. This reduces the risk from fire and adds value.
Bringing the diverse groups wanting to assist together in a program rather than a set of knee kerk reactions, none of which appear to have been efffective if the bats have returned.
Rather than throw the vertical boards away build a wall of small building for the bats to roost in.
