National Thanksgiving Day
I believe this day is courtesy of J W Howard, hot on the trail of the those taken up enough with the Christian right to fall down and take and eye before their’s is taken; to voted the three of them back in; and to be likely to do so again with a day to honour them. Make me sick. Where did that word come from? It’s as American as Kentucky and that’s dangerous as our easily influenced cultural mediogres lap it up and wonder why their armpits smell like crap – ‘cause they’re eating crap!! National Thanksgiving Day. Really Johnny H, that’s a slip on your akubra ruse. One ruse conflicting with another old mate – two masters.
It’s interesting that it’s an aspect of the Church which has taken up this Day … in some organised concert.
It’s a grouse idea to encourage people to thank each other for this and that. Thanks John from the bottom of me ‘eart; and I mean that. But call it ‘Ta Mate! Day’ and keep your vote for the right Australians and conserve our local cultural development with the name. And while you’re at it, throw in a Sorry Cobber Day. Sorry for this and that, and also what that Right did by way of damage, pain and death in Iraq. Sorry cobber, shouldna done that ay. Mix the two together and let’s call it Australia Day.
