Premier Hodgman has no option but to dismiss his Primary Industries Minister Sarah Courtney over her breach of the Ministerial Code of Conduct and reshuffle his Cabinet.
Shadow Attorney-General Ella Haddad said the Ministerial Code of Conduct makes it quite clear that once there is a personal conflict of interest, it needs to be disclosed immediately.
“It is clear that appropriate action was not taken at the time it became a conflict of interest,” Ms Haddad said.
“This clear breach of the Code of Conduct is grounds enough for dismissal, let alone the fact that all of the Minister’s decisions have now been called into question.
“This is an extremely serious breach and Tasmanians expect the Premier to take decisive and swift action.”
