Minister Courtney cannot remain after Code of Conduct breach

Premier Hodgman has no option but to dismiss his Primary Industries Minister Sarah Courtney over her breach of the Ministerial Code of Conduct and reshuffle his Cabinet.

Shadow Attorney-General Ella Haddad said the Ministerial Code of Conduct makes it quite clear that once there is a personal conflict of interest, it needs to be disclosed immediately.

“It is clear that appropriate action was not taken at the time it became a conflict of interest,” Ms Haddad said.

“This clear breach of the Code of Conduct is grounds enough for dismissal, let alone the fact that all of the Minister’s decisions have now been called into question.

“This is an extremely serious breach and Tasmanians expect the Premier to take decisive and swift action.”

Perhaps the shadow attorney-general should ask Scott Bacon, Lisa Singh and …. (whoops, well, why drop that one, eh?) what action they took when approached by serving NPWS/DPIPWE staff about blatant corruption in the DPIPWE.

Remember when you point a finger there’s three pointing right back at you. Best be careful before opening the DPIPWE can of worms, and let’s not forget Bryan Green’s enthusiasm for the Fox Task Force (FFTF).

What about …’s dad and his part in transporting foxy things from the mainland? Nope, best let the NPSW/DPIPWE rest easy. Who in their right ALP mind cleared this for general release?
