Dr Michael Aizen MR: Health Minister Falls Down on the Job
THE decision of the Health Minister to renege on her promise to fully allocate the Mersey Hospital funding windfall to the Launceston and Burnie Hospitals indicates that she is not serious about addressing current problems at those hospitals.
As Health Minister she has overseen the worst waiting list and waiting time figures for Tasmanian hospitals. Our performance continues to deteriorate under her stewardship. Her lack of reasonable support continues to be demonstrated.
It is time for her to keep her promise to guarantee $45m in additional real recurrent funding for the north and northwest.
Our patients deserve much better.
