Navigating — An exhibition by Naomi and Eve Howard
Sidespace Gallery
Peacock Building
77 salamanca Place.
until March 11

The paintings are by Naomi.
Ceramics by Eve.

In 1998 Naomi created Nangalas Sticks (shown here) in acrylic and oil stick on canvas.

The rest of the paintings exhibited were completed over the last twelve months.

Several emerged from the thoughts and feelings Naomi associated with Nangalas Sticks.

One of these is Crones – 2006, (detail shown)

Naomi said:

“For me it’s all about the older woman and how you’re not seen — because of this. (touching her grey hair) It’s as if you’re masked. But it gives you this marvellous freedom. You can go anywhere. Watch anything.”

The exhibition runs until Sunday 11 March.

More of these artists’ works, as well as those of Sally Curry and Gaye Hawkes, are on show at the Artless Studio Gallery at 581 Sommers Bay Road, Murdunna.

Open at weekends from 10-5 or by appointment. Ph: 0362535570
