The University of Tasmania says relocating its Launceston and Burnie campuses will process an extra 12,000 students over the next decade.
The claim comes as part of the university’s unveiling of its detailed plans for its future in Northern Tasmania, launched on Friday morning in Launceston.
Key points of the plan included confirmation that the Newnham campus will shift to Inveresk.
The university says the Launceston campus move will cost $260 million, while the Burnie campus move will cost $40 million.
