I have a confession to make. I am a conservative. I have always been a conservative, and I will always be a conservative. Now, I know this sounds strange coming from a member of the Green Party, for many people think of the Greens as the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. But we’re much more conservative than you think. Many of us are small business owners and farmers, and therefore we tend to be fiscal conservatives.

But nowhere are Greens more conservative than on issues concerning the environment. If, by definition, conservative means one who errs on the side of safety, then Greens are conservatives when it comes to preserving nature, our environment, our world.
