Comment on this Bob Hawkins’ article HERE I have kept a low profile in this ongoing debate however I applaud Trish for her ongoing comments about retribution and familial links in the Valley. For 8+ years I have been struggling with the HVC, State Authorities and the Huon Aquaculture Company themselves over their pollution of the Russell River with 26 million litres of effluent water from their antiquated Flow Through pond system being discharged into our Community river every day of the year. At times of the year this Company extracts 100% of the water from our river for their fish farm and then discharges it 300m downstream. Department of Water Resources, to me, don’t care with what happens to the water – as long as the volume is returned – called non consumptive use. The HVC and the EPA have, in my view, together failed in regulating this company from treating our river as their private sewer. And when I complain… this is what happens to my livestock … nothing apocryphal about these photos Ben … I can supply time and date stamped pics that coincide with me ramping up my complaints.

• Geoffrey Swan in Comments: Thanks Pete. Done all that including the RSPCA. At least Police are aware and it is on file … and we’ve already been told in a loud conversation over the fence that a certain person will come through our house with a shotgun … and when I “tried to be unfazed” and said I would phone the Police – he said “Mate .. you and your wife will be dead before they get out here”. Absolutely nothing from Groome, Rockliff, Whittington, Abetz; even tried Katter. Hodgman promised to follow up but nothing … and then I got gagged by the Senate Inquiry when I submitted a 13,000 word piece complete with evidence – they retained it as confidential evidence, said they would not publish on the Senate website, and if I published it I would be in contempt of Senate. But stay tuned … I am just taking breath at the moment. I will not let this go …
