The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to creating jobs and we welcome the appointment of the 100th employee at Telstra’s NBN Centre of Excellence.
Last November Telstra announced the creation of the national NBN Centre of Excellence in Hobart and the aim to recruit 100 new employees.
It is fantastic that Telstra has already reached 100 employees at the Centre of Excellence. This means 100 more Tasmanians are now employed and working in the fast-growing ICT sector.
We congratulate the 100th recruit to the Centre of Excellence Christopher Jones, who sold his landscaping business in Victoria to live in Tasmania where he is also studying part-time through the University of Tasmania.
The 100 recruits have mostly been from Hobart but they also include employees from regional Tasmania and also Tasmanians relocating back from interstate because of this job opportunity.
The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to helping businesses grow the economy and create jobs.
We are doing this through our Local Benefits Test, Buy Locally Campaign and Small Business Assistance Package.
The Liberal Government is committed to helping Tasmanians capitalise on and benefit from the digital economy.
The creation of 100 jobs at Telstra’s NBN Centre of Excellence is a great example of this in practice.
