The State Liberal Government is treating Tasmanians with contempt by breaking its promises on the NBN.
Before the election the Liberals promised to fight for the full roll out of fibre to the premises broadband.
Last year the Minister for Information, Technology and Innovation Michael Ferguson said 80 per cent of properties would receive fibre to the premises.
Last week in Budget Estimates Minister revealed the target had been reduced to 55 per cent.
“Michael Ferguson must be held to account for breaking unequivocal promises to Tasmanians,” Shadow Minister for Technology, Communications and Innovation Madeleine Ogilvie said.
“Mr Ferguson has created a two-tiered society of haves and have-nots.
“Cities like Burnie and Devonport and parts of my own electorate in Denison look set to miss out on the opportunities provided by full fibre to the premises broadband.”
