Shadow Treasurer Scott Bacon welcomed the commitment to tourism in today’s Budget.

“It is critical that we continue to build on the strength of Tasmania’s tourism sector,” Mr Bacon said.

“Marketing and promotion is the key to continued growth of the industry.

“Equally important is ongoing support for regional tourism organisations to ensure they build their profile and attract as many visitors as possible.

“The contribution of tourism to Tasmania’s economy cannot be understated and strong Government support will help ensure we not only maintain but grow our visitor numbers.”
