The Australian notes the failure so far of Tasmania’s labor Premier Paul Lennon to visit Beaconsfield to offer solace to the families affected. Instead of leading on the issue, Mr Lennon has left it up to the Australian Workers Union, which respresents many of the Beaconsfield miners, to demand a full, independent examination of the operation’s safety.
