Like the predictable end to a bad romantic movie, Bryan Green and Labor are back in bed with the Greens and now support the Greens’ Senate salmon show trial.
Late last month Mr Green claimed he was opposed to the inquiry, said it risked damaging one of Tasmania’s most important industries, and promised that he would “bang the table” to express his outrage about it to his Federal colleagues, including Bill Shorten.
But yesterday, after failing to meet with Mr Shorten, Mr Green completely back flipped and admitted he now supports the Greens’ salmon show trial.
Once again Labor has sold out Tasmania to keep the Greens happy. Labor has been caught in the Greens’ net on salmon, just like they are on forestry and mining.
Let’s get one thing clear: the Greens are not interested in putting Tasmania’s salmon farmers on trial in order to vindicate the industry. As with forestry and mining and so many other pillars of Tasmania’s economy, the Greens will use the Senate inquiry to attack the salmon industry and to try and destroy it.
Once again, it’s only the Liberals who are standing up for jobs, investment, environmentally sustainable industry and economic growth in Tasmania.
