Tasmanian citizens are gathering together for a Mountain Top Vigil against Indefinite and Mandatory Detention – as part of a National day of Action.

This Sunday, March 29
10:30 a.m – 11:30 a.m.
Summit of Mt Wellington

The vigil is hosted by Amnesty International’s Refugee Rights Groups and will be attended by a coalition of concerned citizens expressing their united opposition to the Australian Government’s current policies and treatment of refugees and asylum seekers.

Similar actions are being held in all Australian capital cities and in 30 other Countries of the World.

The day of action reflects the growing global concern felt over Australia’s treatment of refugees after the damning reports released recently including The Moss Review, The Human Rights report on Children in Detention and the Human Rights Committee against Torture.
