The Liberal Government’s pro forestry rhetoric stands for naught after it was revealed the industry has been overlooked on Premier Will Hodgman’s trade mission to China.

“Resources Minister Paul Harriss has been sidelined for the trip to China because forestry is not on the agenda for the trade mission,” Labor Leader Bryan Green said.

“Mr Harris and the forest industry have been overlooked while Adam Brooks scores a ticket to China.

“Either Will Hodgman and Mr Harriss are at odds over forestry or they are embarrassed because in the eyes of the world they have done absolutely nothing to help build the industry.

Mr Harriss today refused to say whether he wanted to be part of the Tasmanian delegation or even whether he lobbied for forestry to be included on the agenda.

“This makes a joke of the government’s pro forestry rhetoric and yet again proves the Liberals are all talk but no action when it comes to the timber industry,” Mr Green said.
