The Make-a-Wish-Australia’s Hobart branch will have over 30 volunteers helping at the Housing Industry Associations’ “HOMEFEST” being held this weekend at Princes Wharf Shed number 1.
Activities provided by Make-A-Wish, will include a BBQ, kid’s craft corner, a silent auction, face painting, jumping castle and super heroes for the kids to have their photo taken with!
President Janine Arnold said HIA has been a supporter of Make-A-Wish Hobart for several years.
“I am thrilled and grateful that HIA has once again chosen our charity as a partner for the event and we are so appreciative of the support” she said.
“This weekend is the culmination of months of planning with the volunteers of the Hobart branch and the team at HIA. We really love doing this event with them each year”
“The power of a wish is so strong, we often see children’s conditions improve after having their wish granted. And of course a wish is a very special opportunity for family and friends to create memories that will last a lifetime”
Ms Arnold said the funds raised over this weekend will continue to help grant wishes for children with life threatening medical conditions.
“As well as donations on the day, we are running a silent auction across the two days with items donated by some of the 140 stallholders. We are certainly looking forward to a busy weekend,” she said.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The HIA home Fest runs from 10am – 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
