Tasmanian Writers’ Centre
The Tasmanian Writers’ Centre is in the process of producing its annual broadsheet to promote books published this year by Tasmanian writers. The reason you have received this email is because we believe you may be aware of writers who would appreciate having their books promoted through the broadsheet.
Last year’s broadsheet was a huge success, promoting more than 70 new books by Tasmanian writers. Around 2500 copies of the broadsheet were distributed. You can see a PDF of last year’s broadsheet here.
In 2013 the broadsheet, called Away With Words, will be distributed to the public through the Centre and Writing Australia’s other State centres. It will be available at the Tasmanian Writers’ Festival in March 2013, and will go to bookshops, State Libraries and to the major literary festivals around Australia.
We would be grateful if you could distribute this information through your networks. Anyone who has published (or will publish) a book while living in Tasmania in 2012 can send a submission to the broadsheet. Fiction and non-fiction books, across genres, are invited. Our guidelines for submission to the broadsheet are below.
The Tasmanian Writers’ Centre is a government-funded, not-for-profit organisation. This year, for the first time, we are introducing a small fee to cover the broadsheet’s production and distribution (see details below). This contribution will allow us to continue promoting the work of Tasmanian writers locally and nationally. Thank you for your part in helping us achieve this!

Chris Gallagher,
