Premier David Bartlett said today he had deferred the start of the proposed forestry roundtable to allow industry and environmental groups more time to work through details.
“I had hoped to have this set up by Friday but that will not now be the case.
“It is vital we get this process right if we are to have a sustainable and growing forestry industry that can increase the number of jobs it provides.
“It is clear that is going to take a little more time.”
