Jane Howlett today confirmed she had nominated to be endorsed by the Liberal Party for this year’s Federal election in the seat of Franklin.

“I hope to be able to serve the Liberal Party and the people of Franklin in Federal Parliament and deliver a prosperous future while delivering effective community services,” Jane Howlett said.

Jane Howlett proved to be a very strong candidate at the State Election only missing out on becoming a Member of State Parliament by 194 votes. Jane is a young business woman with strong connections in Franklin. Jane hopes to give the Liberal Party a very good chance at winning the marginal seat of Franklin from its little known sitting Labor Member.

Jane Howlett grew up in Richmond and went to School at Geilston Bay High School, which are both in Franklin. Jane Howlett has owed businesses in Franklin and lived nearly her whole life in the electorate. Jane is currently the State Business Development Manager for Procter and Gamble and is a married mother of two children.

Former State Upper House Member for Pembroke, Peter McKay, approached Jane about standing after hearing she was considering running for Franklin.

“Jane’s down to earth maverick appeal would very much fit in with the traditions of former Franklin Members such as Bruce Goodluck and Harry Quick and I believe she will give the Liberal Party its best chance of winning the seat,” Peter McKay said.

Jane Howlett said she is looking forward to the opportunity of beating Labor at the Federal poll. Jane said seeing Labor’s mismanagement, all talk no action approach and lumbering our children and grandchildren with a massive government debt along with not delivering services and infrastructure stimulus projects to Franklin as major issues of concern.

“I am looking forward to talking to the Liberal Party members of Franklin and gaining their support to win the seat back for the Liberal Party,” Jane Howlett said.
