David Bartlett: Tell us the truth 4

THE DAVID BARTLETT Government must be desperately hoping journalists continue to ignore what appears to be a most scandalous transaction: the 800,000 tonne woodchip deal with a Chinese company (Expert fears chip fire sale: HERE).

Why is it Tasmanians are not allowed to know at what price chips are sold. Why are Tasmanians not allowed to know if royalties have not been charged on what is their property?

Are we now in a situation where the only way the taxpayer can continue to subsidise the forestry industry – without popular support, environmental credibility or economic justification – is by literally paying this industry to not just destroy its greatest resource, but give it away.

It is not an industry. It is a corrupt sickness subsidised by the people’s money, their resources and Tasmania’s future.

David Bartlett tell us the truth. What are the details of this deal?
