Youth Week Tasmania 2023
‘Acceptance: Be Bold. Be You’
Youth Week Tasmania, the state’s largest celebration of young people, kicks of today with new and exciting events planned across Tasmania.
With events running from Monday, 1 May – Sunday, 7 May 2023 young people will have the chance to attend talent shows, movie nights, art activity days, games nights, pizza parties, climate café conversations and more.
Youth Network of Tasmania CEO Tania Hunt said Youth Week Tasmania is about showcasing the skills and talents of young Tasmanians and acknowledging the positive contributions young people make to our communities.
“Youth Week Tasmania is about having fun, meeting new people and enjoying new experiences through participating in one of the many events on offer,” Ms Hunt said.
“Young people are involved in the planning and delivery of Youth Week Tasmania activities. This not only builds the capacity of young people to develop practical skills, but it also provides an opportunity for young people to engage with their community.”
“This year’s theme ‘Acceptance: Be Bold. Be You’ was chosen by young people to recognise the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. The theme celebrates the strength of Tasmania’s diverse young communities and aims to foster wider acceptance across the state for all young Tasmanians.”
As part of the week, we are encouraging community members to get behind our young people and support them to attend one of the events taking place across the state.
