WHAT sort of Australian would not want a court order protecting whales in Australian waters enforced? The sort of Australian with plenty of green lip when seeking votes but little bottle when it comes to action. Rudd, K. Garrett, P. Hark is that the ‘responsible’ opposition I cannot hear? I have been fortunate enough to see 2 species of whales in the wild, both targeted by this immoral and unnecessary so called ‘scientific’ whaling. Typical Japanese government arrogance regarding international requirements that a vested national interest can lobby the conservative elements about and get the government to back it in the face of international condemnation and scientific evidence. Reminds me of Australia’s new greenhouse gas targets, too little will be too late. I give my permission for Captain Irwin to arrest the lot and bring them to port. Anyone else?
