Not afraid of water, fish smells and outdoor work?
Perfect — you might be just who little penguins and other seabirds are looking for! The work is hands-on and sometimes messy, but every effort helps give these animals a second chance at life in the wild.
Come along to our Information Evening on 24 September to learn more.
Penguin Rehab & Release are holding a Volunteer Information Evening on Wednesday 24 September from 17:30 to 19:00 at the Cradle Coast Authority, 1-3 Spring Street, Burnie.
Penguin Rehab & Release is a Landcare Tasmania community group dedicated to the rehabilitation of seabirds with the aim of preparing them for successful release back into the wild.
We need volunteers for on-site support working directly to assist in the rehabilitation of penguins in care as well as other jobs like administrative tasks and fundraising. Most of the work is dirty, exhausting and un-glamorous, but extremely rewarding.
As a volunteer at PR&R you’ll meet new people, make friends and have fun, as well as gaining an insight into our amazing and vulnerable little penguins.
If this sounds like something you would like to do, come along to the Information Evening and find out more.
Attendees will be invited to attend a Volunteer Training Day at the facility on Saturday 4 October.
Due to the nature of our work, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
