Launceston has officially opened the doors to its new Regional Transit Centre, marking a significant upgrade for public transport in the city.
The state-of-the-art facility replaces the old shipping container at Charles St/William St, ushering in a new era of convenience and comfort for commuters. The new centre features three dedicated bus stops and a new in-person customer service counter to assist travelers.
Passengers can now wait in comfort with 65 indoor and sheltered seats available.
The new centre will act as a major hub for various bus services.
It will provide direct transfers onto Metro buses serving Launceston’s Northern Suburbs, and will also be the new central hub for Intercity, East Coast, and Mole Creek bus services. The opening of the new facility has resulted in the closure of two previous bus stops, streamlining services and centralising operations.
