UNICEF Australia is calling on young people in Tasmania aged between 18-24 years of age to share their ideas on climate action, as part of the global ‘Local Conference of Youth’ (LCOY) series.
In July there are two opportunities for young people in Tasmania to participate in the youth climate conference which will contribute to the Global Youth Climate Statement to be presented at COP30 in Brazil.
LCOY consultations in Australia are run in collaboration by UNICEF Australia, UN Youth, and Australian Youth for International Climate Engagement.

UNICEF Australia Young Ambassador for Tasmania, Reede Adams-Beckett said,
“I encourage young people to come along and share their ideas about how we can reduce and manage the impacts of climate change in Tasmania.
“Children and young people from around Australia are impacted by climate change in different ways and have unique ideas to share.
“We look forward to hearing from young people in Tasmania and bringing ideas from all young Australians together to form the 2025 Australian LCOY national statement in the coming months,” he said.
