Every year on 15 May, Palestinians around the world mark the Nakba, or catastrophe, referring to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948.

Honk for Palestine held every Saturday 10:30 – 11:30 at the corner of East Tamar Hwy and Lindsay St:

Shoes for Gaza: This display of hundreds of shoes, dotted with photographs of young victims of the bombings, is held every Saturday in the Brisbane St Mall between 10.30 and 2.30. A stimulus for conversation.

Morning traffic display for Gaza: Every second Wednesday, at the Brickfields Reserve in Launceston on the busy Bathurst St, there are sign displays held by volunteers reminding passing motorists of the tragedy continuing in Gaza. The signs form a message from one end of the park block to the other. 8-9:00, every second Wednesday; the next one is 21 May and every second Wednesday after that.
