As winter approaches, hundreds of Tasmanian children in need are facing the cold without the warmth of a proper coat. Tassie Mums is stepping up once again with its annual Coats for Kids campaign, now in its seenth year.
The organisation is calling on the community to donate new or pre-loved children’s coats to help keep vulnerable kids warm this winter.
“Every child deserves to feel warm and cared for, especially during winter,” said Clair Harris, CEO of Tassie Mums. “The generosity of our community has always been the heart of this campaign, and with their help we’re hoping to reach more children than ever this year.”
“If your child has outgrown their clean jacket or coat, please consider donating it to Tassie Mums. We will rehome it to a girl or boy in the community who has a great need for it.”
Tassie Mums is asking for children’s coats and warm winter clothing in good clean second-hand condition or new in children’s sizes 1 to 16 and is aiming to collect a thousand coats this winter.
Tassie Mums works with over 100 social service organisations statewide including 400 individual support workers and health professionals to rehome quality children’s clothes and essential baby items to children and families in need.
