Father-Daughter Duo Bring Tasmania’s Natural Wonders to Life in ‘Realm’
Woolmers Estate is thrilled to present Realm, an extraordinary exhibition showcasing the talents of Michaela Boon and Christopher Selby. This debut collaboration, featuring 60 unique pieces, explores the breathtaking beauty of Tasmania’s wilderness through stunning timber sculptures and vibrant paintings.
Christopher Selby has been honing his craft in carving and painting since childhood. Now a full-time artist, he is celebrated for his captivating representations of Australian wildlife, created from specialised Tasmanian timbers. Each piece of timber inspires Christopher’s artistry, as he unveils the hidden beauty within its grain.
Michaela Boon draws deeply from her childhood experiences exploring Tasmania’s national parks, forests and waterfalls. With eight years of dedicated practice and family mentorship, Michaela’s portfolio features acclaimed works including a large screen-print project at St Giles in Launceston and a colourful children’s mural at the old Launceston General Hospital. Her art has captured the attention of collectors across Australia and beyond.
