The Tasman Hotel in Hobart has been named No.49 in the global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024, one of only two Australian hotels to be recognised in the awards.
Opened in 2021, the hotel is part of the Parliament Square redevelopment.
“Tasmania has long been a jewel in Australia’s crown as a place to experience natural and epicurean delights, and fabulous warm friendly hospitality,” said Stephen Morahan, The Tasman Hotel General Manager.
“The Tasman embodies these experiences and to be celebrated on the world’s stage is not only a testament to our offerings but those of the entire state.”
Amy Hills, CEO of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, viewed the recognition of the hotel as a boost to the industry.
“We have so many amazing products and experiences and we hope that through this amazing recognition, we can entice more visitors to head south and experience some luxury at the Tasman Hotel, while at the same time explore further afield.”
The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 was revealed as part of a live countdown from No.50 to No.1. The ranking is complemented by a host of special awards and reflects prestige travel experiences around the globe, collated from the votes of 600 anonymous experts.
This voting panel – the 50 Best Hotels Academy – comprises a balanced mix of hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and seasoned luxury travellers, led by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs.
