TEDxHobart speakers to share innovation, inspiration, and big ideas

TEDxHobart is on this Saturday (May 11) bringing together an incredible line up of speakers and performers with ideas worth spreading, ready to conquer the world.

The full-day program at the Odeon Theatre brings together some of Tasmania’s brightest minds to share their thoughts.

“TEDxHobart is a dynamic platform that shines a spotlight on Tasmania’s innovation, inspiration, and big ideas,” Theo Kapodistrias, Executive Director, TEDxHobart said.

With 12 diversely different talks TEDxHobart offers a range of views, stories, entertainment, activities and performances.

Speakers include inspiring mountaineer Paul Pritchard, fashion designer Lalita Lowe, drone pilot Andrew Davies, emergency physician Viet Tran, and radio personality Ryk Goddard.

The theme for TEDxHobart 2024 is Ripple Effect.

“Picture this: a single disturbance causing a chain reaction that reverberates through different parts of a complex system,” Mr Kapodistrias said.

“It’s not just a concept; the ripple effect can be seen in fields like finance, technology, law, agriculture, history, community development, conservation, the arts, and tourism.

“Imagine how a small shift in one area can have a mighty impact across many others.

“So, if you’re excited about the power of ideas, if you’re intrigued by the potential of small actions creating big waves, then TEDxHobart is the place to be.”
