Call to action – Rosny Hill Friends Network, 29 April 2024
SAVE OUR PARKS – WE NEED YOU
- Rosny Park and Charles Hand Park form the green gateway into the City of Clarence
- In December 2023, after minimal publicity, Clarence City Council agreed to offer Rosny Parkland and Charles Hand Park for an AFL proposal to build a High Performance Centre covering both parks.
This will result in much of the area in both parks to be covered by two ovals, buildings and concrete or rock retaining walls.
- In April 2024 over 1000 residents petitioned Clarence City Council to hold a public meeting to discuss:
o The inappropriate siting of AFL High Performance Centres on public parklands
o Inadequate community consultation before Council vote.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Wednesday 15th May 7pm at
Citywide Baptist Church, 400 Cambridge Road, Mornington

It’s crucial to preserve our green spaces, and so the proposed AFL High Performance Centre at Rosny Parkland and Charles Hand Park seems like a significant misstep. Reducing public parklands for such developments undermines community interests, especially when it seems the decision lacked adequate public consultation.
I hope the council reconsiders after hearing from the concerned residents.
