JACQUI LAMBIE NETWORK IS PUTTING PEOPLE BEFORE POLITICS

Reports in the media about the Lambie network signing away their rights to vote against the Government are simply untrue.

The Lambie Network MPs, Miriam Beswick (Member for Braddon), Andrew Jenner (Member for Lyons) and Rebekah Pentland (Member for Bass), have agreed to provide confidence and stability in Government.

This is what Tasmanians expect and deserve.

Let us be clear, the JLN has not agreed to support the Government on every piece of legislation. JLN MPs are committed to looking at every Bill that comes to Parliament – from every MP – on its own merit.

The JLN MPs did not enter Parliament to engage in votes of no confidence, or other games by parties seeking to destabilise – in fact, we campaigned against this type of negative politics that do not serve the people.

JLN MPs have no wish to “hold the Government over a barrel” with unreasonable demands. Instead, they will behave like adults and work in a collegiate manner with the Rockliff Government to the benefit of all Tasmanians.

Those who do not share our “people before politics” approach are entitled to constructively express their views on the Agreement that was shared with transparency. However, Tasmanians deserve better than people sniping from the sidelines.

The JLN looks forward to working with the Rockliff Government to serve the best interests of all Tasmanians.
