CANDIDATE ANNOUNCEMENT – ANIMAL JUSTICE PARTY

We pleased to announce the Animal Justice Party will have a candidate in each of the five seats for the Tasmanian state election:
– Casey Davies – Clark
– Jehni Thomas-Wurth – Franklin
– Anna Gralton – Lyons
– Ivan Davis – Bass
– Julia King – Braddon

“We are asking people to be a voice for the animals this election,” said Karen Bevis, Animal Justice Party Tasmania Convenor.

“The list of improvements that many Tasmanians would like to see for domestic and wild animals is long, and it is important that politicians take them seriously.”

Amongst other issues, the Animal Justice Party will be campaigning for measures to reduce roadkill, improve the status of companion animals, have government funding withdrawn from the horse and greyhound racing industries, and to end the hunting of native animals.

“A number 1 vote for the Animal Justice Party is never wasted,” said Ms Bevis. “It sends a strong message to other political parties, and voters still have six more squares on their ballot paper to number as they see fit.”
