Log from Swift Parrot habitat dumped on MONA congress

The macabre truth of logging in critically endangered swift parrot habitat has been revealed today at MONA.

“To the horror of environmentalists at the congress and around the world, logging in critically endangered swift parrot habitat was shared with people at MONA today,” Bob Brown Foundation Campaign Manager Jenny Weber said.

“Our foundation asked Premier Rockliff, Prime Minister Albanese and Forestry Tasmania to stop destroying the swift parrot habitat this log comes from,” Jenny Weber said.

“We have witnessed and recorded swift parrots in the very forest from where this log was plundered,” Jenny Weber said.

The log was a eucalypt tree which was essential habitat for the critically endangered swift parrot. Environmentalists from Bob Brown Foundation have been arrested defending the forests in which this tree was destroyed in recent weeks.
