2023 Legislative Council Elections

Polling day for Tasmanian Legislative Council elections is this Saturday 6 May

All electors enrolled in the divisions of Launceston, Murchison and Rumney have a chance to vote for their voice in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. Polling places will be listed in the Advocate, Examiner and Mercury on polling day and are available now on our website.

Electors who can’t get to a polling place on Saturday 6 May, will be required to vote early.

Need to vote early? Seven pre-poll centres are open across the state

To date, over 5,600 Legislative Council postal vote packs have been posted to electors for these elections. It’s now too late to apply to vote by post.

Electors unable to make it to a polling place on polling day can still vote early at any of the following early voting centres between 8:30am and 5:30pm each day, and up until 6pm Friday 5 May.

Electors who are interstate or overseas on election day can access phone voting services, visit the TEC website for more information.

Polling day Saturday 6 May. Remember voting is compulsory.
