Announcement – Tamar NRM, 8 May 2023

Are you prepared for the next fire season?

The Red Hot Tips Program is working together with Tamar NRM to deliver expert advice on how to live with, manage, and reduce the fire risk on properties.

The On Farm Forum is a free 2-day hands-on series that covers all aspects of fuel reduction burning and management. Held on the 20th and 27th May, it will guide you through the theory, planning and practical demonstrations of fuel reduction and bushfire risk management. It includes workshops on Burn Plan Writing and Demonstration Burning.

Red Hot Tips Program Facilitators provide landholders and their property:

  • practical advice on effective bushfire management planning

  • guidance on developing burn plans

  • opportunities for private and public landholders to work together

  • training and mentoring

  • assistance identifying resources needed for planned burning

  • advice on alternative options to planned burning to reduce bushfire risk

  • access to helpful resources.

Since the program inception in 2020, the Red Hot Tips program has over 250 registered properties, has completed over 380 burn activities covering over 7,000ha and has conducted numerous workshops throughout Tasmania.

Located on a beautiful timbered property in Flowery Gully, all catering, equipment and resources are provided. Places are limited and registration for the event closes midnight, 9th May via the Tamar NRM website: https://www.tamarnrm.com.au/event-details-registration/farming-fire-and-everyday-life
