Recount to fill Franklin vacancy

Her Excellency the Governor has advised the Electoral Commissioner that the Honourable Jacquie Petrusma MP has resigned as a Member of the House of Assembly for the division of Franklin.

A recount will be conducted, in accordance with the Electoral Act 2004, to fill this vacancy.

A public notice will appear in The Mercury newspaper on Saturday 30 July 2022 inviting all Franklin candidates who were not elected at the 2021 state election to nominate to contest the recount. The Electoral Commissioner will also write to those candidates.

Nominations must be received by 12 noon on Monday 15 August 2022. The recount will commence shortly after this time.
