KINGS CROWNED NBL CHAMPIONS
The Sydney Kings have won the 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL Championship after defeating the Tasmania JackJumpers, 97-88, in game three of the Grand Final series.
Sydney celebrated its first championship in 17 years in front of 16,149 fans at Qudos Bank Arena, the biggest attendance in NBL Grand Final history. The 3-0 series sweep capped off the Kings’ fourth championship in history.
Xavier Cooks won the Larry Sengstock Medal for Grand Final MVP after a stunning series ended with a 23-point, 13-rebound and seven assist performance in game three.
After a tight first three quarters, the Kings outscored the JackJumpers, 31-19, in the final period to run away with the win.
Jarell Martin recorded a double-double with 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Ian Clark scored 22 points.
Josh Adams was Tasmania’s leading scorer with 27 points.
