International comedian David Strassman is returning to Tasmania for the first time in 7 years. His show The Chocolate Diet will be touring in May 2022 to Burnie, Launceston and Hobart.

The Chocolate Diet is a look at our obsession with sweets and lollies, a send up of our failed diets, and Ted E. Bare’s drama with his self-image and addiction to chocolate. The problem is getting worse, especially with the sneaky and evil Chuck Wood leaving tempting donuts around. Meanwhile, Chuck has his own amusing personal drama, a sneaking suspicion that he was carved out of the wrong piece of wood.

Since his early performances in the 1990s, Strassman has been embraced throughout Australia. In 2018, he released his show, iTED E, a comical puppet portrayal about our internet addiction that saw Strassman and his puppets in a six-way conversation.

Strassman said, “I love making audiences laugh and this new show, The Chocolate Diet, is probably my funniest to date. It’s also quite delicious, and watch out, it’s fattening too!”

The Chocolate Diet completed a sold-out 20 city tour in 2019. This performance is rated MA 15+. Children 12 to 15 years must be accompanied by parents or guardian. No one under 12 years admitted.
