In response to the feedback of the Border Closure Grants, the government has opened the Micro and Small Business – Border Closure Critical Support Grant.
The new COVID-19 Micro and Small Business Border Closure Critical Support Grant program is targeted at micro and small businesses operating in the tourism, hospitality, arts and events, seafood and transport (hire car, coach tours) sectors, and other business that have suffered severe hardship as a result of the lockdowns and border restrictions that are in place in other states.
They have also revised the eligibility criteria and how the reduction of 30% turnover is compared. So if you are a small business that was not eligible for the Border Closure Grant, or have not applied for the original Border Closure Grant, please take the time to read over the guidelines.
